Global Outreach update 22/5

FIJI:

If you are considering serving with Kinetic in Fiji, please fill out a application for an interview with ABC Leadership and return it to Avondale Baptist Church office by March 6th 2011. Cost is $1000 and will take place between October 8th- 18th of 2011.

If you do not have one already, you will need a passport to travel with us to Fiji. Passport information is located here: http://www.passports.govt.nz/

As the process can take up to 3 months we suggest pursuing one as soon as possible.

As a part of the preparation process to for Fiji, volunteers are required to serve (2) times at a Soup Kitchen in Auckland as organized by Kinetic Leadership. Another way to meet (1) of these service requirements is to

A) Ask a homeless person in Auckland what there favorite food/place to eat is. Obtain that food and bring it back to them with your parent or a Kinetic team leader.

B) Attend a Odyssey House lunch with Piper on a designated Sunday afternoon.

More updates are on the way. Please refer to the calender of events for the (6) required meetings leading up to departure to Fiji.

WORLD:

Letters from PNG- This will be a student to student contact program between Kinetic students and students studying under Tiffanny Manning in Papua New Guinea at the New Tribe Missions centre in Hoskins. Miss Manning teaches Kiwi missionary kids as well as PNG natives on the base in Hoskins. Starting late March, we will begin receiving letters from these on base students as a part of Miss Mannings teaching program, in which we will have the opportunity to respond. This will bring all of us at Kinetic into a greater understanding of Kiwi's and Natives living in circumstances different to our own. More details coming soon.
